Help us expand our media results to communicate how marketers are making prime-time television friendlier to families.

The Family Friendly Television Forum is a consortium of forty-six advertisers — all members of the Association of National Advertisers — who seek to promote and recognize prime time television programs that a family can comfortably view together. Each year the Forum honors shows and actors/actresses at its annual Family Television Awards.

CooperKatz & Company has been charged with driving consumer and industry awareness for the Forum and its premier event since its inception in 1999. Each year, we've gotten "bigger, better, broader" and for the 2004 Award Program CooperKatz reached nearly 80 million in audience impressions (excluding internet audience impressions which are unavailable) through an aggressive outreach to local and national print, radio and television, as well as internet media.

In addition to producing a video news release that was picked up by 155 stations/broadcast groups in 150 markets, we had 12 key national placements including E!, Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, Extra! The TV Guide Channel, CNNfn, CNN.

Print outlets running the story included The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, The Wasington Post, In Touch Weekly, Daily Variety, The Hollywood Reporter and Media Week. CooperKatz also created and distributed an Audio News Release which reached 646 stations and over 12 million listeners!

207 internet sites ran a story and/or photo about the Family Television Awards, and this online success was due in part to a student blogger that we invited to attend live on site. The show was hosted by Lori Loughlin of the WB's hit family show Summerland and produced by dick clark productions.

2004 Family Television Award honorees included:

  • Drama: Joan of Arcadia (CBS)
  • Comedy: Everybody Loves Raymond (CBS)
  • Alternative/Reality: Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (ABC)
  • Special/Movie/Mini: 2004 Olympics (NBC)
  • Actor: Bernie Mac, The Bernie Mac Show (FOX)
  • Actresses: Doris Roberts, Everybody Loves Raymond (CBS) and Amber Tamblyn, Joan of Arcadia, (CBS)
