"Help us to organize and promote the world's largest pipe and drum parade."

CooperKatz & Company was the lead agency in helping to organize and promote the world's largest pipe and drum parade, which drew 9,000 pipers and drummers from 26 countries and every state in the U.S.

The event, held on April 6, 2002, coincided with both April Cancer Awareness Month and National Tartan Day, and raised much needed funding to support two organizations helping people who live with cancer on both sides of the Atlantic: Gilda's Club Worldwide in NYC, and the Scottish branch of UK-based Marie Curie Cancer Care. The event also strengthened ties between all countries, particularly Scotland and the U.S.

Pre-event media efforts included a specially tartan-wrapped open-air promotional bus, with performing pipers and drummers on board, that cruised Manhattan visiting key landmarks.

Pre-publicity media appearances included interviews on Good Morning America, The CBS Early Show, Fox & Friends, The Today Show, New York 1, Tartan TV (UK-based) and the BBC. The day of the event, coverage included all broadcast networks, local stations in major markets and print media coverage both nationally and locally.
