In 2010, apparel manufacturer Garan Incorporated, a Berkshire Hathaway company, retained CooperKatz to promote Garanimals®, its iconic line of children’s clothing, shoes and toys sold exclusively at Walmart.
First launched in 1972, Garanimals revolutionized children’s clothing with its innovative mix-and-match tagging system for young children.
In order to reintroduce the brand to today’s reporters, CooperKatz held a Media Play Date event at Dylan’s Candy Bar in New York City. CooperKatz invited reporters, their families and brand representatives to take an inside look at the new products. A fashion show led by Garanimals’ VP of Childrenswear Design, Lori Rej, showcased the latest trends on adorable child models. Creative candy crafts and treats were available, offering family fun paired with the opportunity to get up close and personal with Garanimals’ apparel, toys, footwear and plush.
After this kick-off event, CooperKatz continued to build momentum with one-on-one deskside meetings with top tier parenting publications as well as a constant flow of media outreach. Coverage has included such critical parenting magazines as American Baby and Working Mother, along with high-traffic blogs and websites like About.com and Babble. CooperKatz also secured a back-to-school fashion show exclusively featuring Garanimals apparel as a special segment on the WPIX-NY Channel 11 morning news program, the CW affiliate for New York City and the surrounding region.
