CK Leaves Mark on Intern Duo

Our CooperKatz summer 2011 interns wrapped up their final projects on Friday, and are now heading back to their respective universities.

Allison Lilly, a public relations student from Pennsylvania State University and an Altoona, Pa. native, worked with the Petfinder.com and Coldwell Banker Real Estate accounts. She helped with media targeting and pitching, trend research, social media auditing and creative brainstorming. She will return to Penn State and finish her degree next spring, where she will also serve as national liaison for Penn State’s PRSSA Chapter, director of business affairs for the student-run PR firm Happy Valley Communications and outreach coordinator for EcoCAR 2: Plugging into the Future.

Marcus Hardy of Paradise, Calif. will return to Brigham Young University for his last semester. While at CK, he worked with The Physician’s Foundation, Siegel+Gale and DialAmerica teams, doing everything from media targeting and outreach to drafting sales touch points. Marcus will spend his last semester completing his capstone course and volunteering at non-profit organizations in Provo. He will re-join the CooperKatz team as an account coordinator in January.

Throughout the summer, the students immersed themselves in the close-knit, creative and welcoming culture at CooperKatz. They were able to attend the CK anniversary Yankees game, company meetings, two baby showers and the annual company picnic complete with kayaking, CatchPhrase, lots of swimming and a myriad of delicious summer foods!
 
In July, the pair ventured out of the office and spent an afternoon at the annual Internfest sponsored by the Council of Public Relations Firms. They mingled with fellow interns from CPRF’s network and enjoyed Weber Shandwick president Andy Polansky’s keynote on the public relations industry.
 
Both Marcus and Allison agreed that diving into their teams, clients and agency culture at CooperKatz provided them with a fulfilling, intellectually stimulating and — of course — fun summer in New York City. The interns would like to thank the CooperKatz staff for helping them to grow both professionally and personally.
