This December 10th marks a significant milestone of gratitude for me. Ten years ago I had open heart surgery to repair my mitral valve, expressed in a murmur that was identified the moment I was born and that had worsened over the years. Being totally healthy for these past ten years has given me the energy to heartily embrace many of life's joys, including graduations, weddings, the birth of all five of our grandchildren, the blossoming of new relationships and countless gatherings of family and friends.
I have also been able to enjoy the growth of CooperKatz and the opportunity to work with an incredible team of insightful, enthusiastic, hard-working young professionals. In that time we have grown from a team of 15 to more than 30 people. As our client roster has expanded, the breadth of experience we’ve embraced has taken us deeply into higher education, health and wellness, and frequently into the realm of emerging businesses. We have also relished the excitement of helping re-define segments of established industries with work for clients like Zipcar, Virgin Mobile and currently, Nostrum Energy.
At this 10-year milestone I want to extend a special thank you to Dr. Toby Cosgrove, now CEO of Cleveland Clinic, who so skillfully performed my operation.
I wish everyone a relaxed and joyful Thanksgiving, and warm reflections of everything in your heart for which you are thankful.
