Over the past few months, the CooperKatz Wellness team has been hard at work implementing new programs and activities to support and encourage the overall health and wellness of our CK colleagues. An important part of our efforts has been focused on increasing volunteer and charity initiatives, which not only give back to the community, but also provide us with an opportunity to spend quality “out of office” time together.
On October 21st, CK staff, family and friends participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Central Park and raised nearly $3,500 in donations for the American Cancer Society. It was great to walk in Central Park together on a beautiful fall day while supporting an important cause that touches so many people. Thank you to everyone who donated to the “CooperKatz Against Cancer” team!
In order to give back throughout the year, we established a program which offers employees the opportunity to volunteer for two half-days per year during work hours. Under this new initiative, a group of CKers recently volunteered at the in Harlem, helping to cook meals for those in need.
CooperKatz also recently hosted a volunteer orientation session with New York Cares, the city's largest volunteer organization, which runs volunteer programs for 1,200 nonprofits, city agencies and public schools. We are excited to begin taking advantage of the variety of volunteer opportunities they offer, which include programs supporting seniors, children, individuals with disabilities, job readiness and beautifying neighborhood parks and gardens.
This holiday season, we are all thankful for the opportunity to spend more time together giving back!
