Jorge Lavina has a diverse background in communications, with experience ranging from the support of public affairs and political campaigns, to the execution of both business-to-business and consumer technology-focused public relations initiatives. As an account supervisor at CooperKatz, he plays a key role in the planning and execution of communications programs for the firm's professional services, financial services and business-to-business clients.
Recent assignments for Jorge include providing strategic and tactical support for Jackson Hewitt Tax Service, a leader in the tax preparation industry, and S1 Enterprise, a top provider of multi-channel financial services front-office technology solutions.
In his earlier work at CooperKatz, Jorge handled public relations efforts for TowerGroup, the premier research and advisory services firm focused on the global financial services industry; Noblis Health Innovation, a leading advisory group to health providers; Corvil, the technology and market leader in network and application latency management systems for capital markets; and the Association of National Advertisers (ANA), the major trade group representing large marketers.
Prior to joining CooperKatz, Jorge worked at HWH Public Relations/New Media. There, he provided corporate communications, branding and public/media relations support to major corporations and smaller entrepreneurial companies - including Samsung Consumer Electronics, Samsung Information Technology, Kaboose.com and Visionary Vehicles.
Previously, he was with The Thompson Group-Little Rock, where he helped to drive communications programs for local political campaigns and public affairs clients such as Mike Beebe for Attorney General and the Committee to Save Arkansas Jobs Coalition.
In 2008, Jorge was named a “Top Tech Communicator” by PRSourceCode, based on its annual survey of journalists from over 300 IT and business publications. Jorge holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Hendrix College.
