Pet Adoption in Russia

November 02, 2011, 1:19pm posted by Katy Hendricks

When I began my exchange work program at CooperKatz, I joined the team for Petfinder.com, which is the largest online, searchable database of adoptable pets. Celebrating its 15th birthday, Petfinder.com has facilitated more than 17 million adoptions. And from what I have seen, CooperKatz has certainly played a role in helping to save many animals’ lives.

In the short time I have been here, I can tell that part of this amazing success is due to an effective strategy, creative approach and collaboration among all parties; the CooperKatz PR team, the internal Petfinder.com team, and the media. I wonder – how could an adoption database like Petfinder.com be created in Russia? What kind of tools would we use? What principles would our strategy be based upon?

The Smile in PR

Just a few days ago, I traveled to NYC to CooperKatz & Company where I will be working for three weeks as a trainee. I am a media relations manager at the Russian PR company named CROS, which, along with CooperKatz, is a member agency of PRGN (Public Relations Global Network). So I’m going to study how PR works in the US and the differences between PR in Russia and PR in America.

Happy 60th Birthday Sparky the Fire Dog!

October 12, 2011, 1:45pm posted by Heather Caufield

Last week I had one of my best “only in New York” experiences to date: parading through Times Square with more than a dozen brand icons and mascots.

The parade included The Michelin Man, Colonel Sanders, Tony the Tiger, The Kool-Aid Man, French’s Mustard, the Vlasic Stork, the Crash Test Dummies, a Kia Hamster, Mr. Peanut, Smokey the Bear, McGruff the Crime Dog, The AOL Running Man and my favorite, CK client, Sparky the Fire Dog, the official “spokesdog” for the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). All of these iconic characters made their way from the Times Center, through Times Square, to the Madison Avenue Walk of Fame. It was truly a sight to see. I even spotted a few jaded New Yorkers doing double takes.

This was the culmination of Advertising Week’s annual Madison Avenue Advertising Walk of Fame public vote. It was exciting to have the National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) official mascot Sparky the Fire Dog among this year’s nominees for favorite icon. Not only is Sparky celebrating his 60th birthday this year, but the Advertising Week event came just days before the kick-off of the NFPA’s annual public awareness campaign, Fire Prevention Week (October 9-15).

Chiefly Speaking…Some Big News at CK!

While we love partnering with our clients to promote their good news, we are especially thrilled when we have some kudos of our own to share, particularly when it concerns our CK family.

This week marked an exciting time at 205 Lexington, thanks to the announcement of two significant promotions: Anne Green has been named President and Chief Executive Officer, and Dorothy Sonnenburg has been designated as Chief Financial Officer.

Thought Bubble is a space for members of the CooperKatz team to share whatever comes to mind - from news about our company and clients, to insights on the constant evolution of the marketing communications landscape.
