While taxpayers can (mostly) breathe a sigh of relief now that the fiscal cliff has been averted, the weeks leading to the year-end negotiations were flooded with uncertainty and hype. Top members of the media were scrambling to keep up with each sound bite and rumored deal coming out of Capitol Hill – and were often struggling to interpret the possible impact on average Americans.
In the midst of the fiscal cliff whirlwind, CooperKatz helped position long-time client, Jackson Hewitt Tax Service, and its Chief Tax Officer Mark Steber, as a top ‘tax-pert’ on the issue – arranging a series of face-to-face interviews with some of the top consumer news outlets in the country.

There’s no question that the recession has affected nearly every aspect of consumers’ lives – and this includes the homes in which they live. Recently, CooperKatz client, Coldwell Banker Real Estate, partnered with nationally-known psychotherapist, Dr. Robi Ludwig, to explore how the American mindset around homeownership has shifted since the economic downturn. Together, Coldwell Banker and Dr. Robi surveyed 2,100 consumers (with the help of Harris Interactive) to identify how the recession has impacted perceptions of the intangible value of home.

In celebration of all the college football festivities, Coldwell Banker Real Estate released its annual College Home Listing Report (College HLR), which ranks college towns across the country in home affordability. This year, the College HLR ranks the average home listing price of three-bedroom, two-bathroom properties in more than 115 college towns home to schools in the Football Bowl Subdivision.
