Missoni launch misses the Target

In an op-ed recently featured on PRWeekUS, CK manager, Kathleen Reynolds, shared her perspective on the positives and negatives of Target’s PR strategy surrounding the Missoni brand launch.
 
You know you're doing something right when advertising, PR, and social media are activated to get customers buzzing ahead of a major launch. And buzzing they were when illustrious Italian designer Missoni announced its collaboration with “the big bull's eye” – Target.
 
Reading women's magazines or style blogs, you couldn't miss ads or editorial spreads featuring the famed chevron styles. But anticipation quickly turned to anger for many customers since the line launched. It certainly did for me. As a woman who invested my time and money in this launch, here's my personal experience, and thoughts on the good and the bad, and what it means for savvy PR pros.

The term “award shows” is often associated with star-studded events like the Academy Awards or the Grammys. “Blinged out” celebrities arrive in black tie, red carpet-ready attire. They receive recognition for their multi-million or multi-platinum fame, all televised for the adoring fans at home. That wasn’t quite the scene as Andy Cooper and I left the office Monday around 5:45 p.m.

Eagles Kick-Off Renewable Energy Effort

CooperKatz clients the Philadelphia Eagles, in partnership with Solar Blue, recently announced plans to power Lincoln Financial Field with onsite wind, solar and dual-fuel generated electricity, making it the world’s first major sports stadium to convert to self-generated, renewable energy.

CK collaborated with the Eagles’ production and public relations offices and Solar Blue executives to map out the strategic vision for the announcement / press event, conduct extensive media relations, develop a social media campaign, draft the event presentation and script, lead executive media training and manage production logistics.

“SPiN” takes on a whole new meaning

When people hear “PR” and “spin” in the same sentence, they usually think it means swaying public opinion to support a client's point of view.  But on a recent Thursday afternoon, the only “spinning” going on was at the skilled hands of CK staffers over several games of table tennis!  

Coldwell Banker “On Location”

Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC recently launched a branded “On Location” YouTube channel, which has attracted more than 200,000 visitors in its first month. Aimed at providing interactive, localized video content as a new way of looking at real estate, On Location currently hosts 1,700 videos, including home listings of houses, explorations of local communities and expert insights from real estate professionals.
