Aprill Turner joins CooperKatz with a wealth of communications experience in political campaigns, public policy and non-profit organizations. As a senior account executive, she supports such clients as ASCAP (the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) and U.S. Preventive Medicine.
Ms. Turner’s prior track record includes developing and implementing strategic communication plans, conducting media training programs and executing media relations campaigns. In the non-profit realm, she planned and conducted media outreach initiatives for New York Lawyers for the Public Interest and the National Campaign to Restore Civil Rights. For six years prior to that, she worked on Capitol Hill in varied media relations capacities, including press advisor to now House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California, deputy press secretary to Congressman Stephen Lynch of Massachusetts and communications director to Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas. Ms. Turner has also supported several local, Congressional and Senatorial campaigns.
Ms. Turner holds a bachelor’s degree in legal communications from Howard University and a master’s degree in campaign management and fundraising from The George Washington University.
