Katy Layton joins CooperKatz with experience in several public relations disciplines, including work for marketing communications campaigns, the nonprofit sector and event planning. At CooperKatz, Ms. Layton serves as an account coordinator on the Noblis and Petfinder.com account teams.
Prior to joining CooperKatz, she served as the membership and marketing intern for the University of Florida Alumni Association. She organized both public relations and marketing initiatives supporting the official class ring program, then new to the University, and acted as the liaison between the alumni association and ring manufacturer Herff Jones, Inc.
During her senior year at the University of Florida, Ms. Layton represented the College of Journalism and Communications in two national public relations competitions. She participated in the PRSSA-sponsored 2007 Bateman Case Study Competition and received an honorable mention for her team's campaign, "Family Caregiving... it's not all up to you!" Prior to the Bateman Competition, Ms. Layton and her teammates created and implemented an award-winning public relations campaign for NetBank in a competition sponsored by Hunter Public Relations.
Ms. Layton has also interned with Hope Beckham, Inc., a public relations and event marketing firm in Atlanta, where she worked with a variety of national and local clients. Before venturing into the agency arena, she was the assistant special events coordinator for the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine where she helped plan, publicize and implement events.
Ms. Layton holds a bachelor's degree in public relations from the University of Florida.
