As a senior account executive at CooperKatz, Nick Sowards plays a key role on the account teams for Teliris, Polar and U.S. Preventive Medicine, engaging in a variety of activities from media relations and strategic planning, to tradeshow support and media training.
Since joining CooperKatz in 2006, Mr. Sowards has helped raise awareness for Teliris, the leading telepresence company, through high-profile media demos, tradeshow planning / support and expert outreach. He helped secure Polar, a consumer health and fitness brand, as a new CooperKatz client, and garnered national media coverage for two new products through creative product demos, tradeshow support and extensive media outreach. For U.S. Preventive Medicine, Mr. Sowards helped to publicly launch the company and develop a strategic communications plan, in addition to ongoing writing and media relations duties.
Prior to joining CooperKatz, Mr. Sowards served as the PR Manager at Avinti, an emerging technology company focused on e-mail security. As a student, he interned with Hunter Public Relations in New York City, working with clients such as Netbank, Campbell’s Soup and Cold Stone Creamery. He also interned with Connect Public Relations in Provo, Utah, working with high-tech clients Siemens and Symantec. At both firms, Mr. Sowards handled research, writing and media relations responsibilities.
Mr. Sowards holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications, with an emphasis in Public Relations, from Brigham Young University. He is also an amateur photojournalist, taking on various side projects in New York and having worked as a photographer for his collegiate newspaper. |
