A recent graduate of New York University with degrees in journalism and politics, Ben has already amassed strong experience in working with the national media. He most recently served as the Public Relations Intern for New York Magazine, where he was responsible for pitching bloggers and reporters at other media outlets to promote the magazine’s content and stories – driving coverage as well as web and mobile traffic. He also helped to manage the magazine’s Facebook channel and created daily reports merchandising PR results to key executives.
Prior to this, Ben served as an Editorial Intern at The New York Times as a part of the Learning Network blog team – which converts Times content into learning materials for high school students. In this role, Ben wrote daily posts, created quizzes and engaged with students reading the channel. Prior to this, Ben was a Web Intern at Rolling Stone, where he supported the team managing RollingStone.com as well as the magazine’s Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr channels. He pitched and wrote short pieces for newly released songs and video, and covered live events for the website. Ben also served as a Strategy Intern for ZogSports, analyzing data relative to customer retention and acquisition trends.
Ben is a recipient of IBM’s Thomas J. Watson Memorial Scholarship in recognition of leadership skills and academic achievement and was also a National AP Scholar.
