For more than 18 years, CooperKatz has provided public relations and creative services support to the Association of National Advertisers (ANA), the premier trade group representing more than 575 companies with over 10,000 brands that collectively spend some $250 billion in marketing communications.
The ANA’s goal is to be positioned as the leader of the marketing community and an indispensable resource to marketing professionals.
CooperKatz has helped the ANA address numerous important industry issues, including behavioral targeting, direct-to consumer pharmaceutical advertising, measurement and marketing to children. We’ve also supported the Association’s robust thought leadership program by writing speeches and bylines, disseminating research findings and publicizing its many industry conferences and forums. In addition, we have produced and staged the ANA’s signature event, the ANA Annual Conference for the past 17 consecutive years – an event attended by more than 2,000 marketing and media executives.
The CooperKatz team also promotes joint industry initiatives supported by the ANA, including Ad-ID, the standard for identifying advertising assets across all media platforms.
As a result of our collaboration, the ANA and its CEO have become go-to resources for scores of reporters who want insights and perspectives on the marketing industry, and ANA media coverage has grown to a dominant level across both trade and top-tier outlets.
As part of our thought leadership campaign for the ANA, CooperKatz first established a blogging platform in 2005 so that Association senior executives could share their perspectives on a wide array of industry issues.
Today, three ANA blogs address a range of different marketing concerns. ‘Marketing Musings’ is the blog of CEO Bob Liodice, who comments on major industry trends and challenges. ‘Regulatory Rumblings’ is the blog of Dan Jaffe, EVP/Government Relations, who posts about governmental actions and public affairs issues affecting marketers. ‘Marketing Maestros’ is a blog co-authored by several senior ANA leaders, who share marketing best practices and insights.
These blogs have become an important thought leadership channel for the ANA as well as a public record of its perspectives and positions. Many trade journalists subscribe to the platform’s RSS feeds and routinely quote ANA blog posts in their coverage.
The Association of National Advertisers (ANA) Annual Conference is the premier industry event for the marketing community. Each year, more than 1,000 senior media and marketing executives gather for this content rich, professionally produced three-day gathering featuring speeches, panels, videos, award presentations and celebrity entertainment – all dramatically staged with custom sets, lighting, design and graphics.
As the Association’s long-time events, public relations and marketing partner, CooperKatz has produced this conference since 1997.
Among our many responsibilities, we work with the ANA to set the agenda including presentations by CEOs and CMOs of prominent U.S. corporations and advertising agencies. We also design the overall look, feel and theme of each year’s conference; develop pre-conference materials; design the stage set; and create speaker introductory PowerPoint presentations and other graphics. Onsite, we oversee all production and staging; coordinate with some 15 guest speakers regarding their presentations; schedule and run all rehearsals; and orchestrate gala evening events with high-profile entertainment acts.
