For three years between 2005 and 2008, CooperKatz served as PR agency-of-record to Jackson Hewitt, the nation’s second largest U.S. tax preparation service with nearly 7,000 offices across the country. CooperKatz resumed its AOR role for the brand in mid-2009.

Past campaigns for Jackson Hewitt have included three levels of strategic PR support:

A comprehensive national PR campaign to position Jackson Hewitt as a vital source of tax insights and tips. Activities included developing and pitching weekly press releases, tax tips and media alerts during tax season; offering company experts as media spokespeople on tax issues; conducting media tours; and promoting specific products, services and capabilities.

A high-profile PR effort in support of Jackson Hewitt’s marketing relationship with NASCAR and support of the Army National Guard. These sponsorships were creatively linked via a PR campaign that honored National Guard ‘Heroes of the Year.’ Each month, based on consumer-submitted entries, a Guardsman was honored in a local community via a press event and media outreach. The ultimate ‘Hero of the Year’ became the first non-celebrity to grace a NASCAR race car.

An extensive ‘grass roots’ initiative that provided local franchisees with marketing/PR training, customizable press releases, promotional ideas, materials and how-to guides.

Publicity CooperKatz generated through these extensive efforts appeared in such media outlets as USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, New York Daily News, TIME and the Associated Press, as well as on scores of TV and radio stations around the country.
