In this case, the headline says it all!
After more than 22-years building the wonderful team and agency business known as “CooperKatz & Company,” we are proud to announce that – as of today – we have joined forces with another powerhouse team. And that is G&S Business Communications.
As many in the PR industry already know, G&S is an independent communications agency founded in 1971 with a highly-integrated approach to serving its clients – and 150 professionals across New York City, Chicago and Raleigh, North Carolina.
We have known and admired the firm and its leadership for many years now, particularly CEO Luke Lambert. We share many business practices and philosophies, including a strong emphasis on our people and on forging deep and highly-effective relationships with our clients.
Over the past six years, G&S has successfully transitioned from a more traditional PR agency model into a full-service Business Communications firm – leveraging a broad and integrated range of digital, creative, PR and consulting services for clients. This is the kind of transformation to which we at CooperKatz have also been committed.
Our entire CooperKatz team will be joining G&S as a part of a combined New York City office – doubling both of our respective sizes in the Big Apple to more than 60 people.
It was not a given that we would take this path. But as we explored this opportunity together with the G&S team over more than seven months, the synergies were undeniable:
And by the way, it’s important to underscore that the “Business Communications” intrinsic to the G&S name means more than “B2B.” The phrase evokes the total integration of business and communications strategies – with approaches that transcend traditional labels like “PR,” “digital media” or “advertising.” The vision is to customize programs with the full toolkit of communications channels, tactics and resources – to create strategies that address each client’s unique needs.
This is a vision we can get behind.
There is, of course, a bitter-sweetness to this news. We have loved our company and brand. It has been thrilling to watch the original vision we established with late co-founder, Andy Cooper, grow and evolve over the years. Just as it’s been thrilling to witness the professional and personal growth of the scores of amazing team members (present and past) who have each left their mark on our business and culture.
We expect this change to be pretty seamless for our clients and partners – and we will work to make it so. But we also know it’s a big one for all of us here on the inside.
While we say goodbye to CooperKatz as its own entity, this legacy will live on in our work as G&S – as we combine our vibrant, engaged and super-talented team with theirs. And as we all come together, there’s no doubt the “whole” will become much more than the sum of its parts!

Yours with 22-plus years of gratitude…
