Danielle Winter
Fresh Faces is a series on our blog in which we introduce new members of the CooperKatz team. In this post, get to know our new account coordinator, Danielle Winter!
PR wasn’t even on my radar until I met with Anne Green! We both went to Vassar and, after meeting her when she was visiting campus, we planned an informal conversation about post-grad life and the communications industry. When I visited the office a few weeks later, I loved how passionately everyone spoke about the work they were doing. The AC position opened right around the time I started my job search, and here I am!
This is the hardest question. There are so many runners up, but “The Anthropology of New Media” narrowly wins out. It was a small seminar where we each chose a medium and studied it independently the entire semester, focusing on the ways each one altered stories as they told them. The class ended with a group showcase where we each told the same story using our given medium. We learned a ton that semester.
Futurism. Not many news outlets can say they’re regularly writing stories about things that don’t even exist yet. I love the sense of responsible optimism their writers bring to analyses of technological developments and innovative ideas. Pod Save the People is a close second, though.
Subway ESP. It’s a blessing I won’t question, but no matter the train, nine times out of ten I end up standing right in front of where the doors open.
My rooftop in Bed-Stuy.
